The Dairy Innovation magazine and the International Dairy Federation presented the IDF Dairy Innovation Awards 2011. Mu Vita brand was presented a highly commended award, while the Mu Vita spread and butter won in the category of Best New Butter or Spread
For the second time the Dairy Innovation magazine and the International Dairy Federation presented the innovation awards for products, brand names, and promotional and socially responsible actions in the dairy industry. The judging panel, consisting of international experts in the food industry, selected the winners among more than 100 entries from 25 countries from all over the world and grouped under 14 categories. Once again, the panel awarded those brands and businesses which reflect the development and innovation of the dairy industry, and which Ljubljanske mlekarne have also contributed shaping.
The Mu Vita brand means the extension of the MU brand, a line of basic fresh dairy products, in the segment of the modern healthy diet. “The modern consumer is striving for a healthier lifestyle; this is why the market of dairy products has seen great and fast changes in the last years. This is also followed by innovations in the dairy industry, which are an important development driving force when introducing novelties to the market of dairy products. The consumer always expects new benefits from products with various features which we at Ljubljanske mlekarne presented, among other things, in the Mu Vita line of light, healthy products with less fat,” explains Milica Dvoraček, Program Manager Director at Ljubljanske mlekarne.
Award-winning Mu Vita spreads and butter
The MU Vita products, which beside spreads and butter also include beverages, were recognized as an innovative dairy product and were awarded the first place among international competition in the category of Best New Butter or Spread. The Mu Vita light spread contains 60% less fat, while the sunflower seed light spread has 50% less fat. Both spreads are enriched with Omega 3 fatty acids which promote cardiovascular health and help reducing blood cholesterol levels. The MU Vita product line also includes a light butter with 50% less fat.

The main characteristics of the Mu Vita products are also reflected in the visual image of the brand, which is pervaded by a light blue colour bringing to mind key characteristics, i.e. light, healthy products with less fat and less sugar, and as such represents the answer to an increasingly more important trend: the care for the health and vitality of ourselves and our families. The brand, launched by Ljubljanske mlekarne at the end of last year, received a highly commended in the category of Best Newcomer Brand of Business.
