Cvetana Rijavec
President of the Management Board and General Manager
With a degree in chemical technology she gained her first business experiences in the company Šampionka Renče, where she was quickly promoted from the position of technologist in development to the quality control manager. She followed new business challenges in the company Fructal Ajdovščina, first as the quality control manager later as the technical director, and during the last nine years in Fructal d.d. she was the general manager. In 2001 she became the general manager in the company Lek Kozmetika d.o.o., which she managed until the end of February 2007.
Throughout a number of years she participated and was active in various positions as the member of management board of the professional society of the food industry at the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Slovenia (1994 – 2000), as a member of the management board of CCIS (1996-2001), as the president of the managing board of Women Managers' Section at the Managers' Association of Slovenia (1996-2004). Between the years 1998 and 2002 she worked as a member of the Government Council of the Republic of Slovenia in the role of the representative of the employers association. She is a member of the European Diary Association, a member of the Supervisory Board of the company Pokojninska družba A, a member of the Management Board of ŽKD Ježica and a member of the task force for the food industry for the Preparation of the Development Strategy and Measures until 2013 at the Ministry of Agriculture, Forestry and Food.
In her business career she received several awards, among them the award of the Managers Association of Slovenia for the Woman Friendly Company of 1998, the same year she was nominated for the Slovene Woman of the Year. In 2000 she received the Petomajsko priznanje award of the Municipality of Ajdovščina for economic achievement. In 2008 she received the Manager Challenge during the Crisis Management Period award by the Manager magazine.
